Since becoming a mother, I have acquired a skill akin to a super power. It is a skill I have improved with time and I am most proud of.
It has been just over a week since I returned back to England for my month long vacation after two years of being an expat in Dubai, and in so many ways, it is as if time has stood still. Returning back to Leicester, everything looks almost very much the same as it was when I had said good-bye two years ago.
Saturday morning myself, Mr Z and Baby Z set off on our long journey from Dubai to England, for our month long vacation. There was a mixture of excitement and nerves, as was to be expected, since it was Baby Z’s first ever flight of his lifetime! Eeek! Below I share with you what we wore for the 7 hour long plane journey!

Baby Z has reached that wonderful age of toddler-hood where he loves to discover, explore and play all by himself. He can be entertained for a rather long time with a box and items to put inside it. Sometimes though, he likes to take this game a little further by taking items and hiding them away in nooks and crannies around the house. Over the past few weeks, there has been much time spent searching for these items or being surprised at finding items where they are not supposed to be. Oh the joy! Continue reading

But he’s my baby. He always will be. Baby Z is a year and 2 months old. That’s 14 months! He has been walking since he was 11 months old. However, social norm states that since he is now “toddling” or walking, he should be referred to as a toddler. Just as a child is referred to as a teenager once he/she turns 13 (and begins swinging moods and doors). Continue reading
